Seacoast Town, Fantastic Porches!

Beaufort SC is a beautiful and quaint seacoast town located between Charleston SC and Savannah GA. One of its finest features are great porches of various designs.

Mary and I traveled to Beaufort on our way from Charleston to Savannah. Always looking for great front porch ideas to share with you. And of course, we took many front porch pictures to show you the beauty of this town.

We had planned on just spending a few hours in Beaufort - that was until we arrived and saw this coastal beauty. We spent the day strolling the streets of Beaufort and enjoyed the evening watching the sunset along the downtown marina and park. It's a beautiful location with a colorful and inviting riverfront park.

A wide sweeping staircase, wide front porch, and a balcony porch to boot!

Beaufort, along with Port Royal, is home to Parris Island, home to the Marine Corps Recruit Depot for the Eastern Seaboard and the Marine Naval Air Station. The Beaufort area is also known for one of the worlds most productive and unspoiled salt-marsh ecosystems.

In addition, many films have been made in the local area like Forrest Gump, The Great Santini, The Big Chill, GI Jane, Platoon, and Forces of Nature!

Beaufort South Carolina was a wonderful surprise. Their park along the waterway has "porch swings" so you can relax and enjoy the wonderful view. It was so good that we spent an extra day!
