An Instant Screen Door
May Be Just The Answer
An instant screen door may be just the answer to your porch, deck, or patio problem. These ingenious screens offer great flexibility and are perfect for
not only your porch but also locations where a typical screen door is not feasible.
They work well for homes, apartments, condos, rental homes, mobile homes, and even boats.
No tools are needed for installation, the screen closes automatically, and you can have the benefit of fresh air without the bugs!
Not allowed to install a front screen door for access to your porch? No problem. This door may do the trick.
Another feature is that most fit all size door openings such as single doors, French doors, and even sliding doors. We've lived in apartments
over the years and would have enjoyed a product such as this.
Landlords do not normally allow you to install standard screen doors and
this would have been the ideal solution. Although instant screens do not provide any security they do allow you to enjoy fresh air in a
very convenient way.
They are kid and pet friendly as you don't have to open or close them.
It's a hands free operation making it very accommodating when carrying a plate of food and drink out to the
porch, deck, or patio.
Many have magnets placed strategically on the edges snap shut when the screen
closes providing a nice secure fit.
Many are also portable. You can move it from one location to another easily or remove it for storage when no longer needed. This
makes it ideal for other applications as well, like your vacation cabin, boat, or even a motel room.

like the one pictured at right.
We've also discovered a French door application where you determine which side opens. This is ideal when you normally open only one side of
a French door.
Change your mind? Just reverse it and apply it to the other side - now that's convenient.
Installation on most models is really easy. Some attach with Velcro while others use a tension rod. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Our granddog, Cisco, is well trained and waits at the sliding door quietly until someone pulls the attached screen door
allowing Cisco access to the back yard.
This instant screen door
would allow Cisco to enter and exit at any time making it easier for the
whole family. You can still use the sliding screen door when you want to control access; the instant screen door
will not get in the way.
Believe it or not the door pictured below attaches with a hook and loop hinges, stores easily for winter, and can fit doors to 36 inches wide.
Here's one other application we found that may be of interest to some. Use an instant screen door to convert your garage into a screened room. My father and
grandfather did this many years ago by building large screen panels with hinges. I'm sure they'd rather have used the model below had it been available!
When it comes to home improvement, an instant screen door may be the perfect solution for your needs; however, you get what you pay for. If possible, find one that not only suits your needs but is durable. There
are many different options so choose carefully.
