There is Great Beauty in Small Porches on Mobile HomesA mobile home with a small front porch can be both beautiful and functional. There are plenty of reasons you might be stuck with a small front porch, but there are just as many reasons owner add small porches on purpose. No matter what, a porch will add value and aesthetic beauty to your mobile home. There are many ways to enhance its charm for sure: Here are some ideas.![]() This small porch (above) on a mobile home sits a bit high because of the door. The wood is stained red, which looks beautiful when it's paired with the red shutters on the mobile home windows and the red trailer skirting. Instead of traditional skirting this porch has more of an inverted house truss design which would make it easy for the mobile home owner to store a kids bike, basketballs, garden rakes and maybe a lawnmower. The railing of the porch is traditional design with the stair railing lacking any spindles. This porch would look great with hanging plants on either side of the stairwell, and perhaps planters hanging off the porch railing. ![]() This is a great detached small porch on a mobile home. The team at Eshco built this one out in the Kentucky/Tennessee area. This one is great to look at because it looks like it was just finished and no enhancements have been made by the mobile home owner. This would be a great time for the owner to think about what they want the look and feel of the entire mobile home to be. Like the previous porch photo, they could start to think about things like shutters on the windows. One idea to get the porch to blend in with the mobile home would be to mirror the skirting that is on the mobile home to the skirting you?d wrap around the porch making sure they match in height. Another idea would be to paint the front door the same color as the front porch, and perhaps even the chair they are going to put on it. The design options are endless. ![]() While this photo seems to cut off the top of the mobile home, you can still get a really good perspective on its size and overall value. This small porch features plenty of storage underneath. By the look of the tree shadows all over the picture, this would doesn?t appear to need overhead coverage. A nice element is the wreath on the front door choosing color elements that match the strawberry blonde color of the deck stain. It also appears to have a gate which could be ideal when you have small children living at the home or a dog that likes to sit outside. While this porch is a small, offsetting the porch steps to the far right means full use of the area on the left which looks big enough for a card table and some small chairs. Centering the small porch on the front door would mean a table would get in the way of foot traffic. Another nice addition to this porch are the potted plants that sit out three feet from the bottom of the steps. This gives the feeling that the entry path is longer, giving it a more regal look.
