Front Porch Appeal - Porch News and Ideas for Porch Lovers

Issue #34 May 2012

May days have almost come and gone. It has been quite a month and we are excited to share a new feature on Front Porch Ideas and More. More details below.

More importantly, this coming weekend celebrates Memorial Day and we take time to say thanks to our military and take a moment to remember and honor the sacrifice of so many that paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

WWII Memorial

If you have a family member, neighbor, friend, or acquaintance that is a WWII veteran, be sure to check out Honor Flight.

It is a wonderful organization that takes our veterans to the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. at no cost to the veteran. Mary and I participated in such an event some time ago and it was a wonderful experience.

Please help spread the word. Our WWII veterans are dying at the rate of over 1000 per day; there is not much time left.

We can't all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by. - Will Rogers

Front Porch Designs Illustrator

We have been working on this project for quite some time and are excited to share it with you.

We always find it difficult to explain how a new or remodeled porch will change the overall appeal of a home. We know it can be dramatic, but how do you convey that to someone?

We found a way, our Front Porch Designs Illustrator.

Using a basic ranch and two-story home, we show over 30 different porch designs, from small porticos to large expansive porches (and everything in between). Get landscaping and walkway ideas too.

We encourage you to take a few minutes and use our Porch Illustrator (one-story) and Porch Illustrator (two-story). Let us know your thoughts; we'd love to hear from you.

Project - Homemade Porch Curtains

Outdoor curtains are perfect for almost any porch. Lori shows us how she used Tracy's tutorial (which we featured in a previous issue) to make these wonderful porch curtains. You will be delighted to know it is easy to do and you will love the results.

Porch curtains are very popular and not only add charm but also can provide protection from wind and rain to extend your porch sitting time!

Vintage Your Porch

Want to dress up your porch? Add more appeal and charm to your home? Consider using vintage-style porch parts to do just that.

Running trim, brackets, vintage sawn balusters, and even porch columns can be added or changed (most relatively easy) to create a fun and charming front porch.

From the Porch Steps

Mary and Dave on front porch steps Mary and I are very grateful for finding a way to leave the corporate world and do something we really enjoy. We are also very grateful for the financial security it provides.

We know; however, that many people still continue to struggle financially, whether they are employed or not. We also know from our own friends and family that many people long to do something they really enjoy.

We are careful to only recommend porch and outdoor products that are of value to you. Although this is not a specific porch product, it is something that Mary and I really believe in and want to give you, our readers, the opportunity to share it with others. Someone you know could really benefit from our advice and experience.

We created Front-Porch-Ideas-And-More.com using a set of internet tools that not only showed us how to create a business but also educated us about the internet to increase our chance of success.

FPIAM home page Our site is proof of that system and our own efforts. We are not internet gurus. We do not sell anything directly (with few exceptions), we do not ship anything, nor do we stock items. It is clean, simple, and so much fun.

Not everyone can do this. It is not a get-rich-quick venture but rather a business built with effort and consistent action.

You do not have to know how to create a web site in order to have a successful income producing internet business (the tools take care of that).

It does; however, take desire and consistent effort over time. Not a doubt!

Know a student needing money for college, a stay-at-home mom (or someone who wants to be), a retired person or couple, or someone who is ready to change their life?

Forward this newsletter to them and have them investigate one or more of the following links:

Tell them about our site, Front-Porch-Ideas-And-More.com. Let them see for themselves what is possible. We created a business about "porches"; just think what they might be able to do!

Mary and I are very proud of what we have accomplished. It took a lot of work but it was well worth it. Using the right tools made all the difference.

We trust you will trust us - we know this could be life changing for someone you know.

Sincerely from the porch steps,
Dave & Mary
