Your front porch addition may be simply replacing an existing pediment (like the one pictured above the door at right) with a roof over the entrance way. Depending on the style of your home, you might opt for a "shed roof" style or perhaps build an appealing gable roof complete with skylights! In addition to placing a roof over a small entrance, you could "extend" your porch by building an adjacent patio area for seating. Or, extend both the roof and the size to make it a country, contemporary, or other porch style. Or one my favorites is to build a combination front porch and screened room.
