Finally here in Tennessee, Mary and I are enjoying cooler temperatures. And for you?
Some of you tell us that snow is already falling where you live. That's early and we hope you stay warm please!
We love the colorful pumpkin and mum arrangements we are starting to see on porches in our area - a sure sign fall has finally arrived.
Of course, this month is Halloween, too.
This year, more than ever, we hear people saying that Halloween is their favorite holiday.
Our grandson Henry was very excited when his dad got him a tall pumpkin inflatable for the front yard this year.

Whether you have a spacious porch, a welcoming patio or simply a small landing near your front door, there's always ways to make your home inviting and festive.
Look at this beautiful bench adorned with autumn's colorful harvest: ornamental kale or cabbage, pumpkins of sundry kinds, gorgeous gourds.
Whatever autumn means to you is just right.
These cute pumpkins have googly eyes. Such a simple idea to make something cute!

We try not to overlook our porch swing - peaceful, isn't it?

Beautiful array of fall decor on the front porch
Look how autumn's bounty is decorating this front porch. The bale of straw and pumpkins are splendid.
Here's an idea: Cornstalks would also work behind the bale of straw to balance the low decorations against the tall wall.

Gorgeous painted pumpkins
When Mary saw these decorated pumpkins, all she could say is "beautiful"!
Painting and decorating pumpkins and gourds with natural materials is a delightful way to dress up your porch for fall.
Be ready for the ooooh's and ahhhh's.
If you're not creatively ambitious, just use stencils or decals to create a similar effect.

We like how this homeowner combined both autumn and Halloween decorations.
Aesthetically pleasing fall arrangement
This is an especially pretty display across the porch railings.
