Probably the biggest drawback of LED light bulbs for most people is their initial cost. However, once you realize that their life span is much longer then incandescent or CFL bulbs, then you know you can save money several ways. Over time, you will save in light bulb replacement costs as well as on your electric bill.

Some LED light bulbs produce a blue tinted light, however you can get LEDs that emit the same color of light as your typical incandescent bulbs.

Dave and I have several flood lights on the outside of our house that require a 30 foot ladder. How nice it would be to only have to replace those every 10 to 20 years.

And we have tall ceilings in our foyer and living room, too. LEDs, because of their longevity, would be so handy there, too.
