Patriotic Front Porches
Patriotic front porches are especially popular around Independence Day.
Flags waving - red, white and blue streamers - buntings - patriotic wreaths and even lighting displays all add to the pride and celebration.
Dave and I love a decorated porch for the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day and Flag Day.
We are grateful to our readers for sharing their red, white and blue porches with us, too! Please enjoy these...

Beth: Porchscape for July 2013 at my house this year are things that feel American.
Little red wagon full of stars, the flags waving and a rooster, for a pop of surprise.
The wagon was so faded that I hand painted it.
Mary and Dave: Beth, thank you so very much for sharing your patriotic porch with us.
We love it when you share your pics!
That little red wagon is the sweetest and the rooster is a nice surprise.
Don't you just love patriotic porch decorating?

Beth: I put this little patriotic display together by just looking around the house for
things that were red, white and blue. I thought the red rubber boots gave it an unexpected air.
Mary and Dave: Thank you, Beth, for sharing your patriotic porch decorations with us.
The red polka dot boots are the cutest - and you are right - a nice surprise.
You can decorate your porch in a red white and blue theme for many holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Veteran's Day.
We like your checkered porch floor, too. Is it painted? Reminds us a little of Linda's painted rug.
Thanks again for sharing your whimsical porch decorations with us here. Love them.

Mary and Dave: Wow, Steven, your front porch is wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing this
picture of your patriotic porch with us on Independence Day. We sure appreciate it! We'd love to see your view.

View from the Porch
What a heavenly view with the lake and waving flag! Photo by Marcia, Lake Martin, AL
Marcia: This is a view from the porch but does show how white wicker creates an atmosphere of comfort and it is so versatile for changing cushions.
Mary and Dave: Marcia, this view is very lovely. And yes, with white wicker you can dress it up in so many ways.
It sure is pretty in the summer!
We truly appreciate you sharing this with us. Nothing like a gorgeous view from the porch.

Mary and Dave: We love your red, white and blue patriotic decorations at your home.
We are very appreciative of you sharing your porch decorating ideas with us.
Rustic Colorado - ahhh! Sounds like somewhere we'd enjoy visiting.
Victorian homes are one of our favorite styles.
Anytime you decorate the exterior of your Victorian Style Home, we'll enjoy seeing pictures.
There's not better way to show your American spirit in July than showing your colors on your porch.

lined up outside are a sweet invitation to come and sit a while. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us.

4th of July Decorations for a Patriotic Porch
Shelly's patriotic porch Photo by Shelly, CT
Shelly: I almost finished my 4th of July decorations and I just completed a porch ceiling renovation.
Well, considering it IS July 4th, I guess I've finished, though there were a few more pillows I wanted to
make, and the fabric is just wrapped around the seat cushions since I didn't have time to make more covers. But I still think it looks pretty nice!

I Love My Porch!
Marjorie's patriotic front porch Photo by Marjorie, Lake Wylie, SC
Marjorie: This is my dream home and I had always wanted a very large front porch to sit and have coffee or
lemonade on a hot summer day. I love decorating it for every season. This happens to be a picture from July.
Mary and Dave: Marjorie, we are so happy you submitted this picture for everyone to enjoy.
You have a gracious southern porch. With your porch rocking chairs and breezy ceiling fans, I'm sure it's a joy to sit and relax on your front porch.
We appreciate how you decorated so patriotically for the 4th of July.
Do you decorate your porch for all the seasons and holidays?
Would love to see how you decorate in December!
It's easy to see why you love your porch.
The memories you create and the relaxing moments are simply priceless!
When we visited Charleston and Savannah, we were taken in by the wonderful porches of the south.
The wraparound porches, the side porches, the spectacular columns and haint blue ceilings.
Oh my goodness, what a treat.
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful home and porch with us.
Simple and Relaxing...
Such a relaxing porch Photo by Cindy Shingleton, Strafford, Missouri
Cindy: Although we are patriotic all year round, the Fourth of July gives us a chance to truly celebrate our country.
We show our true patriotic spirit with homemade red, white and blue cushions and pillows
for our white wicker furniture, as well as a homemade bunting blowing in the breeze.
We gather all the red and white flowers that the porch will hold and make it complete with laughter heard from our boys playing in the front sprinkler...
Even though our porch is small, we make the most of it with family and friends as we celebrate America's Birthday on the 4th of July!

It does not take much to make your porch look spruced up for patriotic holidays.
- Proudly fly your flag
- Put out a few red, white and blue pillows or flower pots. Petunias are come in red, white and blue.
- Hang a stars and stripes banner or several patriotic buntings
- Hang strings of lights to softly illuminate your porch in the evenings
- Decorate your mailbox with spangled stars and small flags
- Always be aware and reverent of flag etiquette
Front porches are fundamental to families, neighborhoods and communities.
Nothing more charming and beautiful than a flag waving proudly amidst the rocking chairs and porch swing.
Celebrate your patriotism and decorate your porch purposefully.
No matter what, enjoy time with family and friends.
