First Day of Winter PicturesBeautiful snowy porches in the neighborhoodOn the first day of winter, our son's neighborhood had a beautiful snowy day. Perfect! He snapped some winter pictures of porches and captured some pretty Christmas winter scenes. Of course, our grandchildren were thrilled to get a snow day and you will soon see that even our granddog, Cisco, was enthralled with the snow.Wow, it sure did snow in their neighborhood. Our grandchildren love love love this snow. ![]() This lovely yellow home has a great porch for sitting. Perhaps not today but come spring.
Porches are beautiful in the winter. This pretty porch has evergreen garland decorations. Notice the porch rocking chairs. You never know when you'll want to sit down and enjoy the view for a bit. A cup of cocoa please - with marshmallows.
Tom captured this beautiful scene of a gorgeous snowy-covered evergeen tree against the clear blue sky. Wouldn't this tree look amazing with some twinkling lights on it?
A beautiful snowy porch. You can see that the wind was sure blowing! Notice the decorative brackets that dress up the porch columns. Adds a big dose of charm to this beautiful home.
A very attractive open country porch with several nice rocking chairs. Looks like a great place to call home.

Evergreen garland greets guests to this great porch. Notice the wind chimes in the corner, too. I bet they were chiming in the winter wind.
Isn't this a wonderful, charming small porch? The owners have the front door decked out with beautiful garland and an evergreen wreath. Really inviting. Love the snow-covered pediment.
Our granddog, Cisco, loves running in the snow. Can you tell?
His best dog friend, Rua, lives just a few houses down the street. They love chumming around. Partners in crime. No doubt they are having a blast in the snow.
Another nice small porch. Their red front door is a pretty focal point! And they even dressed it up with attractive red shutters on either side, too.
Oh a screened porch, too! Bundle up, turn on a small heater, make yourself a cup of hot tea and enjoy the snowy view from this porch.
