Marty's Southwestern Porch Makeover
Marty of A Stroll Through Life shares her quick decorating ideas on
her Southwestern porch. You can use her ideas on your porch to transform it into a comfortable appealing respite.
Southwest decorating normally uses simple lines and natural colors. You don't have to do a lot to get dramatic results. Marty confesses
that her front porch was in sad shape (below). Her rocking chairs needed to be refinished and adding some color in just the right spots would help also.
Her Chinese stool from Big Lots needed painting and the plant has overstayed its welcome!
Marty cleverly transforms her Chinese stool with some spray paint, stain, and clear gloss.
She first paints the stool in two colors of green (emerald green and jade).
She then applies walnut stain and covers that with two coats of clear gloss.
Marty adds new vibrant plants, colorful cushions, and as another easy decorating idea, a whimsical frog - just for fun!
Some finishing touches - a gorgeous front door wreath.
Marty's finished porch - real inviting and ready for guests to relax and enjoy a glass of iced tea!
