Hill Country PorchesMary and I got to visit the hill country of Texas and had a marvelous time finding wonderful front porches. We also learned about Sunday Houses like the one at the top of the page.German immigrants had farms outside of the community and on Saturdays they would travel to towns for goods and to attend church on Sunday. They built and stayed in small "Sunday Houses" which many have now been remodeled or converted into family residences.
