Susan's Screened Porch Is A Dream Porch (Part II)
Susan's Porch Renovation - Part I
A screened porch is a welcome addition to outdoor living. Susan of Between Naps on the Porch graciously allowed us to show you her beautifully decorated porch. We've seen a lot of porches but this is one of our favorites and we hope you'll enjoy seeing her porch pictures and perhaps gleaning a few great ideas for your porch as well.

In Part I, we showed you Susan's porch renovation project. What started out as the removal of an old worn out deck turned into this beautifully decorated screened porch. Susan writes: "Shortly after the completion of the porch last spring, the porch just didn't "feel" quite the way I had envisioned. Do you ever do that...stand in a room and know something is missing but you aren't quite sure what it is?
It felt as if the "edges" of the porch were too hard. I wanted the porch to feel softer, like the wonderful breezes I could feel swirling through on those blue sky days. Then it hit me...wonder how sheers would look. "

Being the creative decorator that she is, Susan found inexpensive sheer panels at Walmart for $5 each and purchased 10 to complete the porch. The rods cost approximately $50. For $100, Susan was able to completely transform the look and feel of her screen porch. She says that a year later she still has the same sheers and that they've held up beautifully.

Note the wonderful wicker furniture and if you look in the top right corner in the picture above you'll see an external speaker. Easily installed during construction, this feature will allow you to bring music to your porch. We've had external speakers on our porches and enjoyed them very much. It's something you should consider either for an existing porch or when building a new one.
Nothing makes a screened-in porch more appealing than sitting down with a large glass of your favorite iced tea on a hot summer day under the breezes of outdoor fans!

If you loved Susan's screen porch renovation, you'll definitely want to see her "front porch" renovation also!
